Assignment 20A - Growing Your Social Capital

1. One person I immediately thought of to get some feedback for this assignment is a great friend of mine who essentially got me into wanting to develop my ideas digitally and creating images and edits of different videos, clips, etc. His name is Jack Harrington, he currently works as a website programmer and sound engineer for larger corporate firms around Florida. Jack sets up websites and other apps through code and sells his algorithms to companies, if not previously hired for that specific coding  job. I would categorize Jack in the Expert field in the industry because he has truly learned how to do it all. He started with digital animations back when he was in high school, then immediately got into coding and writing code before he even graduated high school. This steered him in the direction of developing websites and code for larger companies, as well as gave him the opportunity to express his love for creating music and sound design. Jack is a good friend of mine, we met in high school and instantly shared our passion for music with each other and have been close ever since. Including Jack in my business process will help me have a better sense of direction and steps to take when going through this process.

2. Another person I chose to pick for this topic would have to be my mother, Kelly Gonzalez. For the past couple of years, she has been working as team manager for a multitude of high school teams at St. Thomas Aquinas, where she organizes all of the events and game schedules that happen throughout the seasons. Another thing she has taken control over is social media for the teams. I would consider her under the expert in the market since she has such a great knowledge of how to reach people through these social applications. For this she simply makes posts regarding updates on games, final scores, future games, etc. Being knowledgeable of how to target crowds on these platforms is a reason why I chose to interview her and get some insight on how to target these different crowds for different teams and events. Having the knowledge of how to target that extra bit of potential consumers when taking my companies marketing to social media could be very beneficial and crucial in making sure I am executing it correctly and to the best of my ability.

3. Another person I would want to communicate with would have to be people of industries that rely on these types of services for their marketing campaigns. The first person I thought of was my older brother who currently works as a boat/yacht salesman. When a new boat comes into the lot and needs to be sold, the first thing they do is take to Instagram, Facebook, etc and post about the new product that is available. Having someone who knows how to attract customers in on a product could be very beneficial to have on a team when trying to market the service I would be providing. Also having his connections to those people who are needing the better knowledge of how to edit videos and other photos could be extremely beneficial to those who are constantly turning to social media for their marketing needs. I would classify Luke, my brother, as an important supplier to this industry because he could be very beneficial to getting me in front of those potential consumers who would be needing or could benefit from my services.

Being able to take a few bits and characteristics from each person I mentioned above would help me gain that much bit of reach when needing to have knowledge on these specific fields. This would also prove beneficial to those who need my services and can only reach through my online marketing attempts. I believe it did differ from my experiences in the past because it gave me more knowledge of how to think of people within these fields and use their information for your own services.

Assignment 19A - Idea Napkin No. 2

1) You. Who you are. What your talents are. What your skills and experiences are. Also: what are your aspirations? Specifically regarding your business concept, how do you see this business (if you were to start it) playing a role in your life?
  - My name is Rhett Gonzalez. There are many things I find myself passionate towards in which I think I could turn into a profitable business that could help and benefit others. I tend to fin myself constantly creating a variety of different things such as music, video edits, digital art, etc. which I think could be of interest for a large group of consumers who are wanting to get into digital art and illustrations. I would love to be able to give my knowledge to those who are wanting to develop this type of knowledge and gain this ability to create and develop ideas of their own.

2) What are you offering to customers? Describe the product or service (in other words, how you'll solve customers' unmet needs).
 - The service i would be offering to consumers would be a training course or sessions to learn these skills in digital animations, editing, illustration, etc. to people who are wanting to learn how to develop and sharpen their online animation and editing skills. The skill-set range could vary from beginners all the way to people who have a great deal of knowledge on the subject.

3) Who are you offering it to? Describe, in as much detail as possible, the demographic and psycho-graphic characteristics of your customers. Think especially of this question: what do your customers all have in common?
 - One thing i would be offering is a service that could be accessed anywhere, anytime. Being able to work on this at the consumers desired convenience is a huge thing that I believe would give the customers the feeling of being able to learn at their iwn pace, and also not feel pressured to use the service at a specific time of day, for said hours, etc.

4) Why do they care? Your solution is only valuable insofar as customers believe its valuable to them. Here, explain why customers will actually pay you money to use your product or service.
 - I believe those that would care would be those consumers who want to learn that skill of being able to take ideas and create them in a digital aspect and potentially use that design for something in the future. Being able to know how to execute something you would want to create in a program is a great feeling. Executing a design just as you imagined it being in your head instantly makes you more anxious to keep creating whatever it is that the designer creates.

5) What are your core competencies? What sets you apart from everyone else? Also: what do you have that nobody else has?
 - Being able to identify myself as a highly skilled digital designer would set me apart from other companies that are trying to provide services similar to my business idea. Being able to provide someone the most detailed and effective insight on how to develop their idea is something that will benefit the consumer in the long run.

Assignment 18A - Create a Customer Avatar

I believe my typical "avatar" for a person who would want to be using my services would be someone in the age range of younger to mid 20s to anywhere as old as someone in their 60s. I think all of the customers who would use my services would all share a passion for music and creative sound, as well as being into the aspects behind putting on large shows and productions for music events. I think mainly, they are streaming videos and music from their favorite artists and bands as well as the sounds that relate to that music. They could or could not have children depending on their age or social status maybe. I would think if someone had a child that they would want to share that passion for finding and sharing music.

Assignment 15A - Figuring out Buyer Behavior No. 2

1) Find three people who would fit that segment and arrange to interview them.
3) Begin with alternative evaluation.
- When interviewing my girlfriend on this topic, she really had to think about this process because of how many times a day she finds herself randomly shopping online. She will catch herself laying in bed, scrolling through different websites just gazing through different styles of clothes, clearance or not, and ultimately buy a few tings at a time. Her thought process when determining to purchase an item is definitely the price. To determine if the price is accurate and worth the item its listed for, the quality of the product, brand name, retail store or seller reputation or name, etc. When interviewing my co-worker, he made it known that he only does shopping when he desperately needs something new and will always look for the stuff on sale or clearance. His thought process of price is very important in his decision making, and will also tie in his specific style and ultimately the quality of the product will come into play. My mother really enjoys to purchase things she wants, especially if it is on clearance. So ultimately her process is if it is at a sale price or discounted, she will feel more inclined to think about purchasing more.
4) How/where do they buy?
- My girlfriend is more of an online shopper. She has her specific websites that have most of the stuff that aligns with her style of choice. She sometimes uses her credit card for purchases she wants to be able to pay off, but primarily uses the money she earns from her full time job. My mother has recently turned into a large online shopper, but used to be a more prominent in store shopper. She used to use brand credit cards which gave her some credit back from each purchase, but now I believe she uses her earned money from her full time position as well. My coworker primarily is an in store shopper who uses cash when he can, but also has a well earned savings account.
5) Post-purchase evaluation.
- The most important thing when determining if a purchase is a "good purchase" is determining if the product or service purchased benefited you in any way, big or small. Not only if the item or service purchased benefited you, but also if it does you some good deed or helpful service. There have been times where my girlfriend has made purchases and about 3 minutes after purchasing said items had immediately regretted that purchase. I know that for my mother, when she makes purchases and is not satisfied with the item or service she will ty to return it and get her money back.
6) Report the findings
- All of my interviews were in ways the same and also very different from each other. The first person interviewed had a much different thought process when purchasing things. But her thought process of determining the worth of the value for the product ultimately aligned with that of my mother and coworker. Determining if the service and good did a certain justice for the purchaser was the ultimate underlying factor to determine if it was worth the purchase or not.
7) Draw conclusions.
- I think this segment falls into the purchase decision and post purchase evaluation due to the fact that you are simply thinking back on the purchase you had just made and evaluating whether it was a good decision or not.
